Jason Dalgleish founded The Joshua Tree after attending Plumpton Agricultural College in Sussex. It was here that Jason gained the NPTC qualifications in Safe Use Of Chainsaws & Chainsaw Maintenance (CS30), Tree Felling (CS31), Cross Cutting & Stacking (CS36), Climbing a Tree & Perform Aerial Rescue (CS38), Use of Chainsaws From a Rope & Harness (CS39) and Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1). After passing both written exams at the end of the Tree Surgeons Course, as well as becoming fully insured for all aspects of public liability, he also achieved his First Aid Certificate.
Jason secured his place at the college with the intention of gaining the necessary qualifications to enable him to get a job with a tree company. It was only when on the course that he realised his desire was to set up his own company so that he could provide a quality of work and customer service second to none operating with honesty and integrity. Jason and his wife Grace relocated to Cornwall and The Joshua Tree began its life.
Since its first years, the company has grown as The Joshua Tree's reputation has spread. Being based in the St. Columb area we are ideally placed to cover all of Cornwall and although most of our client base is local to the Newquay, Truro and St. Austell area, our work has taken us as far afield as Saltash, Fowey, St. Agnes, Camborne, Falmouth, St. Mawes, Feock, Padstow and Wadebridge to name but a few...
In the last couple of years as the needs of the business have changed we were pleased to add another team member. Jesus Brito is a valuable asset to The Joshua Tree not only as Jason's groundsman, but he also has qualifications in Landscaping and Countryside Management as well as Tree Surgery. This has enabled us to offer a far wider range of services whilst still achieving the highest possible standards. To help ensure these standards are maintained, here at The Joshua Tree we are continually investing in up to date machinery and the latest technology. This also aids us with keeping our health and safety standards as high as we possibly can in this ever changing industry.

Respecting the environment we work in is important to us at The Joshua Tree. We are very proud to be able to say that 100% of waste generated is recycled! We support a local 'organic' farm retreat project Woodland Valley Farm, by donating all our wood chippings and compost to them for their land and gardens. In return we store all our larger wood there which we saw, split and season so it can be sold as firewood.
We have a strong work ethic throughout the company and at the forefront of that is honesty and integrity. In most cases we give a set price for each job from start to finish rather than pricing by the hour. The reason for this is in our industry, it is difficult sometimes to give an exact timescale on many types of job. If we agree a set price, it doesn't matter if the job is completed slightly early or overruns into another day. Both us and more importantly the client know where they stand and there can be no 'nasty surprises' when it comes to receiving the bill.
